Imperator Graecorum, Niceae. Gener tyranni Alexii Angeli seu Comneni, qui cum fratri Isacio Angelo successisset, et nepos eius Alexius Iumor a tyranno Alexio Duca Murtzulffo strangulatus, hic autem a Latinis, urbe captâ, A. c. 1204. depositus esset; Theodorus a Clero Despota pronuntiatus, cum Anna uxore, et Irene, Maria Eudoxiaque filiabus ex urbe Niceam se recepit, ibi Imperator coronatus. Tabulis aliquot naufragii colletis, regnavit usque ad A. C. 1222. Post obitum Annae Comnenae uxoris, Armenam sibi iunxit, hâcque mox repudiatâ, Mariam Curtenaeam Petri Imperatoris filiam duxit: Ei successit gener Iohannes Ducas, qui obiit A. C. 1255. pater Theodori Lascaris Iunioris cui cognomentum Ducas et Constantinus. Mortuus hic A.c. 1259. relictô filiô Ioh. sub tutela patriarchae Arsenii et Georg. Muzalonis
